I typically begin each week with In the Moment posts, a round up of what's inspiring me at the moment. I start the week this way because everyone needs some eye candy to start their week off right (at least I do).
On other days, I'll open my dream closet and house to reveal shoes, purses, clothes and vintage ephemera - with Tuesday Shoesday, Thursday Purseday, and Fashion Friday posts - that make me swoon. I'll crack open my collection of antique and vintage home economics texts, cookbooks, comics, and magazines and share illustrations and quotes in Food for Thought Friday posts.
Who am I?
I'm a 10/10/10 bride, now wife, who loves everything about planning & throwing events - intimate or grand. I've been collecting knick knacks and furniture from days gone by (beginning with an antique pine bedroom suite that my grandparents stripped and refinished for me) and designing/wearing vintage/retro clothes since my sixth birthday. As soon as I got my first place (a dorm room I shared with a roommate), I began entertaining, planning and executing elaborate menus and obsessing about seating.
I blog daily about vintage & retro fashion/decor, food, & yesteryear-inspired affairs while escaping to the hills by train and photographing my travels. By day, I get paid to contemplate technology and promote our brand via our website, in-person events, advertising, and social media. By night, I'm sharing a bottle of wine or plate of comfort food with friends and family. (For a fuller backstory, visit W0rds 'n M0re.)
When I'm not here, you can typically find me at one of my other blogs (one can accomplish a lot on a two-and-a-half hour roundtrip commute):
- The Road to the Good Life: features select photographs from my travels and my ever expanding closet.
- Recipes for the Good Life: includes recipes from dinners I've made, favorite foods from restaurants, and ingredients I've picked up from local markets.
- W0rds 'n M0re: shares my thoughts on creativity and observations on marketing.
Credits
Design of this blog started with Blogger's Watermark template. I created all of the images using Adobe Photoshop C3. The majority of the writing is done by me - Eden Hensley Silverstein - and sometimes when the mood strikes him, my husband - Daniel "cubes" Silverstein. We occasionally invite guests to join us; their posts are clearly marked.
In a nod to our wedding, the title of the blog and category bars are typeset in Park Avenue. The tagline is typeset in Bodidota Regular. These were two of the fonts used in our wedding stationery.
Currently we're hosting this blog on Blogger.com. This blog began as a place where friends and family could learn more about our upcoming wedding, hence the original URL CubesEdenWedding.blogspot.com. After the wedding, as the focus of the blog expanded, we decided to migrate the blog here; this process is currently ongoing.
Attribution
When sharing an idea, we always try to credit the person(s) responsible for it, as well as how we found it (blog, website, store window, etc.). If we've incorrectly credited an image or you would like your image removed, please let us know and we'll fix it.
Advertising
We write about what catches our eye and what we're planning on buying or what we've used. Unless noted, neither my husband nor I have received compensation for products we feature or review. GemKitty, a custom gemstone jewelry company frequently featured on our blog, is owned and operated by my sister-in-law. I attribute my newly discovered love of jewelry to her.
As of June 29th, Amazon decided to terminate its Amazon Associates Program in California. Any Amazon links are historical or represent products that I own or believe in. I do not receive any compensation when you click through on the link or purchase the product.
Ciao Bella!
