A Style Similar to How My Mom Wore Hers When I Was a Toddler |
In the March 1963 issue of American Girl, Glynne interviews Mr. Patrick who advises readers on how to achieve perfect hair with little fuss all week long.
Growing up I hated curly hair. More than anything I wanted my sister's fine hair that fell in loose waves. She wanted my hair and spent hours in curlers trying for what both Karen (below) and I could do easily, as long as San Francisco remained fog free - a carefree wave (Thursday's style) without any fuss.
My bangs were another story, completely untamed. For most of junior high school I slept with my bangs in pin curlers or taped to achieve the look modeled by Debbie in the first collage.
Did you - or do you - go to great lengths for perfect hair?
Ciao Bella!
