Thursday Purseday: Dutch Designer Hester van Eeghen

Today I want to introduce you to my newest designer crush - Hester van Eeghen. The purse responsible for me falling head over heels? Her Klipper bags. They're reminiscent of a framed doctor's bag.

You know that I love vintage purses and the 1950s/1960s design aesthetic. So whenever I find a modern designer whose line includes retro-inspired pieces, I just have to share.

The Goods (from left to right): Klipper, Red, Grey, Midnight Blue, $895 and Fishy Ray, Turquoise (shown), Deep Red, Black, $795

If like me you can't afford your very own Hester van Eeghen purse, you're in luck; she's holding a giveaway right now! If you're in love with her designs and need a jolt of blue in your wardrobe, enter to win her Fishy Ray clutch. The contest closes 11:59PM Eastern time on June 30, 2011.

In the meantime, I'll savor my coffee table book from BIS Publishers. (They have an amazing offering of eye candy books, including Typo Mag: Typography in Magazines which I spotted on Fonts in Use and how I discovered this publisher.)

Plume, 2002 pp. 58-59
